Don't tell me how to read my quotes.

I shall read it like I do all this text, in a dramatic movie trailer voice.

No, no, no, I didn't mean to say how you should read it, I just meant that's how he said it.

"You know what, you know what I noticed? Nobody panics when things go according to plan. Even if the plan is horrifying. If tomorrow I tell the press that like a gang banger, will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all, part of the plan. But when I say that one, little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds! Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh and you know the thing about chaos, it's fair." - The Joker (The Dark Knight)

"Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

"He wondered, as he had many times wondered before, whether he himself was a lunatic. Perhaps a lunatic was simply a minority of one.

"The book fascinated him, or more exactly it reassured him. In a sense it told him nothing that was new, but that was part of the attraction. It said what he would have said, if it had been possible for him to set his scattered thoughts in order. It was the product of a mind similar to his own, but enormously more powerful, more systematic, less fear-ridden. The best books, he perceived, are those that tell you what you know already."

~ George Orwell's 1984
There was a great quote involving doublethink that I was looking for, but could not find.

"But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin."

~ Aldous Huxley's Brave New World
There's tons more from this, but I don't have the book with me to fetch them up.

"If I wasn't [mad] this would probably never work." / POTC: At World's End

"Sweeney Todd: [opens the lid] What is this?
Mrs. Lovett: What is this?
Sweeney Todd: Smells like piss.
Mrs. Lovett: [sniffs] Smells like, eww!
Sweeney Todd: Looks like piss.
Mrs. Lovett: [unison] I wouldn't touch it if I was you, dear.
Sweeney Todd: This is piss. / Piss with ink."

"They all deserve to die. Tell you why, Mrs. Lovett, tell you why! Because in all of the whole human race, Mrs. Lovett, there are two kinds of men and only two. There's the one staying put in his proper place and one with his foot in the other one's face. Look at me, Mrs Lovett! Look at you! No, we all deserve to die... Even you, Mrs Lovett, even I! Because the lives of the wicked should be made brief. For the rest of us death will be a relief. We all deserve to die... " / Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street

For some reason, after reading the first page of this thread, these lyrics popped into my head:
As coroner
I must assure
I've thoroughly examined her.
And she is not just MERELY dead,
she's really, most sinCERELY dead."

A very true statement from a very bright man

"Their lives are dedicated to world conquest, but they also know that it is Necessary that the war should continue everlastingly and without victory."

-1984 by George Orwell

That was always my favorite Munchkin. The way he sings about being a coroner in that happy little voice. lol.
